Attacker Kyei Baffour Joins Kotoko

Former Liberty Professionals attacker, Elvis Kyei Baffour has signed for the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club after being without a club since the beginning of this year.

The Porcupines made the announcement in a brief statement on July 15 characterising their new player as a new “FOX”.

“There is a new FOX in the BOX. We welcome an attacking talent brewed and refined in the heart of Kumasi.”

The 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the club.

Baffour began his football career at Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League. During the 2018 season, he made his debut and scored his first goal against Ashanti Gold.

In the 2019-20 season, he scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists for Liberty Professionals before the league was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He later joined Tunisian side AS Soliman, where he played 34 league matches, scoring 13 goals and providing 4 assists.

In 2023, he moved to Rogaška, but there’s no record of appearances there and parted ways with the club in February 2024.

He previously featured in Ghana’s U20 and U23 teams.

Baffour becomes the fifth player to sign for Kotoko within the transfer season after midfielder Emmanuel Antwi, Sudanese striker AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub, Arabian left-back Esmat Hassabalbagi and Congolese centre-back Ndongani Samba Gilbani Oneil.
