At 38, I Still Don’t Know My Father- DKB

Ghanaian comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, popularly known as DKB, has revealed that he does not know the identity of his father, even after almost four decades of being on planet earth.

He therefore has no association or ties with his father though he had the chance of connecting to him through a phone conversation some years ago.

This revelation was in reaction to Ghanaian socialite, Gisela Amponsah’s bitter experience with her father whom she described as a demon and hates.

DKB tweeted that he relates to her situation and anger, as they share a similar experience.

He confessed, “At 38 i still don’t know my father. Appreciate yours no matter what…finally called him, he wasn’t in Accra, I begged him to send his pic or selfie, he said his cameras disposition isn’t progressive.”

“Last I heard he works with the Registry of Catholic University-Sunyani,” he said and added a laughing and teary emoji.

Gisela’s Experience
During the “Rants, Bants and Confessions” podcast on Wednesday, Gisela let out her experience and feeling towards her father whom he accused of despising her and depriving her of entitled fatherly love and affection since childhood.

“I’m very disrespectful towards my dad. I’m not even going to shy away from it. I really respect and love my mom a lot but my dad I don’t respect him. I don’t think he is a human being or a person. I feel like all my trust issues and me not knowing my worth at early stage in my life all come from that man.

“How do you have a father, an actual dad who had you, you talk to him and he is just like ‘dont talk to me’. The last time I spoke to him was when I got admission to Legon…and called him to tell him and he was like why was I telling him. My daddy hates me. He despises me…He is cool with my brother. He talks to my brother and sends him money and he has been living with him for years now…I don’t like talking about him because he is a demon. I don’t like him.”

According to her, the last time she saw him was back in her high school days.
