Asiedu Nketia Warns Security Officials against Taking Lives in Election

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johson Asidu Nketia has issued a stern warning to senior officials of the various state security agencies against killing any Ghanaian in the upcoming general elections.

He has promised any ill command that will cost the life of a Ghanaian will not go unpunished when his party comes into power.

Speaking at a party event, Hon Nketia said all crimes by police officials- including the 2020 General election that claimed eight lives- have been compiled for the day of accountability.

“Whether you are a police officer or a military officer, {know that} your party will not stay in power forever. It will be painful to see that the government you relied on for protection will not be around to defend you when your time for accountability reckons. I advise senior police and military officers against the issuance of wrong instructions because you won’t go Scot-free because crime has no expiry date.

“The eight persons who were killed in 2020 will be held accountable. Those behind their death are encouraged by the fact that they are walking freely and have been given ministerial positions. They also stand on podiums to boldly say they will repeat what happened in the upcoming elections. It’s a joke this time around. In whatever situation, the first fool is not a fool.”

Ghana will go to the polls on December 7 to elect Parliamentary representatives and a President to run the country for the next four years.
