Ashanti Warrior’s International Bout Cancelled

National Featherweight Champion and UBO Africa Featherweight Champion Stanley Nyantakyi known as Ashanti Warrior has had his upcoming bout against 30-year-old Argentine boxer Sergio Sosa cancelled.

The 24-year-old boxer announced this in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Though the reasons for the decision were not relayed, he noted that a new date will be set for the event in 2025.

“Hello guys please the fight has been postponed till next year, the new date is around the corner.”

Nyantakyi had already begun preparations for the bout which was initially set for December 7, 2024, at the Menomonee Casino Resort in Wisconsin in the United States of America (USA).

The two were to battle it out for the UBO World Featherweight title.

It will be recalled that the young boxer alongside his management visited the Manhyia Palace on August 28 during an Awukudae Festival to formally inform the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II about the fight and seek his blessings.

It has been a ritual of Nyantakyi to visit the Palace for the blessing of His Majesty whenever he has a bout.

Whereas Nyantakyi has won 10 of his 11 bouts, Sosa has to his credit 13 wins out of 17.
