Ashanti Regional Minister Designate Impresses after Vetting

The Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has made a good impression on many people following his appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

He was vetted on Monday, January 27, 2025.

The Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s submissions have garnered reactions from key personalities in the country.

The founding President of local think tank IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe, discerned that he is vibrant and intelligent, traits he finds rare in the current generation.

In a Facebook post, he vouched for his appointment.

“Where did the NDC find the Ashanti Region nominee minister? Young, vibrant, intelligent, very wise, humble, and assertive. It’s rare these days! Godspeed young man.!”

Social blogger Kobby Kyei has also reacted to the nominee’s vetting, also describing him as intelligent.

According to him, he watched the vetting multiple times.

“Highly impressed. Such a great young man. Very intelligent. An inspiration to the Ghanaian youth. I wish him all the best.”

Amoakohene is an expert in healthcare, governance and public service.

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ghana, a Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science degree from the University of Development Studies and an MBA from the Accra Business School.

In November 2022, he was elected as the Secretary of the NDC.
