Ashanti Regional Chief Imam Passes On
The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheik Abdul Mumin Haroun, has passed on.
He was confirmed dead at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
This was after he was rushed to the medical facility following what has been described as a short illness on Tuesday night.
He is expected to be buried today in accordance with the practice of Islam.
Sheik Abdul Mumin Haroun led the Muslim Peace and Reconciliation Committee in actively advocating for peace during the 2024 General Elections.
From the beginning of the year, the Committee carried out numerous community engagements across the region.
Few days before the election, his outfit focused on engaging young people in various Islamic Senior High Schools on peace in accordance with the dictates of their religion.
