Asenso Boakye Assures NPP Primaries Will Be Fair And Foster Unity

Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye, Member of Parliament for Bantama, has assured Ghanaians that the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries will be conducted fairly and are intended to strengthen party unity ahead of the 2028 elections.

Speaking on Nkwantannanso on Opemsuo Radio, he acknowledged that the growing attention on party politics through television, radio, and social media can sometimes exaggerate

“Politics, like any competition, involves a lot of rhetoric aimed at gaining advantage. Today, with television, radio, and social media, every statement is amplified, sometimes creating the impression of deep internal tension. While some tension exists, I am confident that after the primaries, party leaders will bring everyone together,” he said.

Hon. Asenso Boakye praised the chairman of the primaries, Hon Joseph Osei Owusu describing him as a wise and experienced leader committed to addressing concerns fairly.

He stressed that no one is seeking to rig the process or create unfair advantages.

“No one is interested in rigging elections or creating unfair advantages. The collective goal is to select a candidate capable of leading the party to victory against the NDC in 2028,” he said.

On the potential candidates, Hon. Asenso Boakye singled out Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a standout among the five hopefuls, highlighting his strengths and leadership qualities.

“I think out of the five candidates, Dr. Bawumia stands out,” he remarked.

With the primaries yet to be held, the MP urged party members to maintain calm and unity, assuring that, the process will be transparent and focused on selecting the most capable candidate for the 2028 elections.
