Asanteman Mourns: Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong Offers Prayers For Asantehene

African Christianity lecturer Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong has offered spiritual support to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, in the period Asanteman mourns its late Queen, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

On August 28, 2025, the lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) visited Manhyia Palace, where he prayed for divine protection for the King and increased prosperity for the Kingdom.

His visit comes exactly one week after the One Week Observance of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

Others also visited the Manhyia Palace to commiserate with the Asantehene.

Among them were traditional authorities, Dr Gabriel Boakye, CEO of Anwiam Hospital, MTN Ghana, Ghana Bar Association (GBA), SIC Insurance PLC, Ashanti Regional Passport Office, Owabe Group and the Asante Students Union (ASU).

The burial rites for the Queen are scheduled to begin on September 14 and end on September 18.
