Asanteman Europe Association Donates to Asantehene’s Heal KATH

The Asanteman Europe Association has donated ¢500,000 to the Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Project.
The donation was presented during the 8th Awukudae Festival on October 22, 2025. The group explained that their contribution is intended to help improve facilities and support ongoing projects at KATH.
Members of the association noted that they were inspired by the work done at KATH and wanted to contribute in a meaningful way.
“In 2018, eight countries decided to come together. You advised us, and we took it. We have seen the work you have done at KATH, so with the little we have, we have brought ¢500,000 to support it… We will bring more later.”
In response, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, expressed his pleasure at the initiative, noting that the coming together of Asantes abroad demonstrates their love for Asanteman. He urged them to always remember their roots and ensure that all their actions reflect their Asante heritage.
“I am pleased you have come together; it shows your love for Asanteman. Think of home. Everything you do, you must show you are an Asante. Remember your roots. I bless you,” Asantehene said.
Among those present at the festival were representatives from St. Louis College of Education, Komfo Anokye Nursing and Midwifery Training College, and the Bright and Pure Holiness Ministry, as well as business entities including the Asanteman Cold Store Association, Mantrack Company, KASSAB Trading and Restaurant, and Westec Security Ghana Ltd.
The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Global Health Programme (MCGHP) and a team of UK-based cardiologists, also participated.
