Asantehene’s Visit to Barbados Has Had Overwhelming Impact-Dentaa

The President and Founder of the Grow Unite, Build, Africa (GUBA), Akosua Dentaa Amoateng MBE, has reported the enormous impact of the visit of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, on the Caribbean.
It follows His Majesty’s second visit to Barbados in November 2025 during which he graced the 16th GUBA Awards and Dinner.
“The impact His Majesty has made in Barbados is huge,” she said during the first Awukudae Festival on January 14, 2026.
The visit, she said, has piqued the interest of members of the Caribbean to return to their roots.
She said this while appreciating the Asantehene.
Dentaa further disclosed GUBA’s plans to invite the Prime Ministers of Caribbean countries to Asanteman to meet and hear from the King.
Dentaa was accompanied by Stephane Abass Miezan, the President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Aba Poku, the Board Chairperson of GUBA.
Leveraging on the impact of the Asantehene, Abass reported that paperwork is underway for the establishment of a Ghana hub in Barbados to boost trading, as well as ongoing efforts to make direct flights between the two countries available.
The team also presented a picture frame of a graphical report on the visit of the Asantehene by major news outlets in Barbados.
