Asantehene Urges Restraint Among Disputing Chiefs in His Realm

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called for restraint in the face of simmering tensions between some paramount chiefs in his realm.

Assuring them of attending to their issues individually in the upcoming year, His Majesty encouraged them to be patient and avoid all forms of violence.

Otumfuo stated that there was no need to resort to violence as each issue would be thoroughly investigated to make way for truth to prevail.

Most of these issues, Otumfuo noted, had not formally been presented before him; however, His Majesty said he was well informed of them.

Some of the disputing chiefs are Manso Nkwantahene and Asafohene and Assumegyahene and Juabenhene.

Otumfuo also mentioned Goaso, Asante Mampong, Tuobodom and other areas in the Bono and Bono East Regions.

“If God wills and gives us strength, we will look at them all in the next year.”

His Majesty also touched on other land and stool disputes at the division levels.

“Some issues pertain to royalty, while others involve land disputes. Violence is unnecessary. Even if it takes time, your case will eventually be heard.”
