Asantehene; The God-made Well Full of Wisdom
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for many who do not know, has been a one-stop solution resort not just for his Kingdom but Ghana and the international community.
Many have resorted to him for counsel, assistance and solutions to their problems. He is therefore regarded as a God-made well full of wisdom and from which the world draws for comfort.
In an interview with Graphic Online in 2019 while celebrating his 20th Anniversary upon the Golden Stool, His Majesty indicated that his responsibility transcends the Asante Kingdom as leaders from across the world run to him for guidance.
Despite the demanding nature of his role, he said, he manages to make room to receive and attend to them all.
“Politicians, business people from not only Ghana but other parts of the world, chiefs and others come to me to seek advice and support on many issues, and I make sure I attend to everyone.
“Yes, I am Asantehene but I spread my activities to other areas not within my traditional jurisdiction because I want to see Ghana progress,” the Asantehene stated
His wisdom is widely spoken of and admired both from near and afar. Otumfuo since his ascension to the Golden Stool has mesmerized all people with his in-depth knowledge and wisdom across all spheres.
As such, he is known as the “King Solomon of our time”.
His intervention in the country’s affairs including the economy and conflict resolution both at the national and international levels has on numerous occasions saved the nations from distress in successive governments.
Through his highly cherished wisdom, the infamous Dagbon conflict which had spanned for over a decade was amicably resolved, making way for the enskinment of a Chief.
Admiring his wisdom during an event at the Manhyia Palace on April 24, 2024, the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, said the King’s wisdom is beyond description.
“I have personally interacted with him a couple of times, even before my appointment as substantive Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and I cannot put in words, the depth of wisdom and knowledge His Majesty possesses,
At the same event, the President of the National House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi, called him an “amazing” Monarch while extending his felicitations.
“Happy anniversary to an amazing King whose achievements for the benefit of the Asante Kingdom and Ghana are highly appreciated.”
Today, His Majesty marks 25 years on the Golden Stool.
