Asantehene Receives Multiple Honours from Prince George’s County, USA

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been conferred multiple honours by Prince George’s County in Maryland, USA.
A citation was presented by Executive Aisha N. Braveboy to His Majesty during a visit to the city on November 22, 2025.
This formed part of His Majesty’s visit to the United States of America between November 13 and November 24.
Aisha, while presenting the citation, sought an opportunity to leverage the visit of the King for meaningful collaborations in arts, culture, heritage, tourism, education and institutional partnerships between Prince George’s County and Ghana.

“We recognise the mutual benefit in expanding economic and business exchange with Ghana in strengthening cooperation, trade missions, investment partnerships and regional sister city initiative.”
“As home to the largest and most diverse African diaspora communities in the US, Prince George’s uses His Majesty’s visit as an opportunity to build global partnerships and cultural pride.”
She further affirmed Prince George’s commitment to the values His Majesty champions, including education, community development, cultural preservation and empowerment for future generations.

Meanwhile, the MD of the city’s Police Department, George Nichols, bestowed upon him an honorary police chief title as well as a police challenge coin.
“This is a token of our friendship and partnership and good relationship as it continues…We {also} want to make you an honorary police chief.”
