Asantehene Meets Otumfour Nana of Talented Kids Fame
The fourth Awukudae of the year was an opportunity for Emily Owusu Sekyi, popularly known as Otumfour Nana to show her citation as the third runner-up in Talented Kids season 14 to the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom.
The seven-year-old girl sparkled among the contestants with her weekly display of the Asante culture and tradition through poetry.
She came fourth in the competition during the grande finale in April this year.
On May 24, which was an Awukudae, she was part of the persons who visited the Manhyia Palace to pay homage to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
She was there with some relatives and schoolmates.
Dressed in African apparel, she performed for the King and presented her citation to him.
Ahead of the competition, she was introduced to the King at the Palace.
Other Delegations
The Ramseyer Presbyterian Church also joined the Awukudae. The Chairperson of the Ashanti Presbytery, Rev Benson Osafo Kantanka used the occasion to thank Otumfuo for joining the Church during the first service of the year on 1 January and supporting the construction of their church building.
On behalf of Mr Henry Chinedu Onwuzurigbo, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Ghana, a delegation paid homage to Otumfuo.
