Asantehene Forwards Dispute Over Senfi to 4-member Committe

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has referred the dispute over Senfi to a four member committee.

The Committee members include Adansi Dompoasehene, Nana Tumentuhene, Nana Soodohene and Otumfuo Kyeame Antwi Boasiako.

At a Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on July 21, 2025, Otumfuo charged the Committee to look out for the rightful owners of the stool, using the family tree.

“The young man is claiming ownership as well as Adumasahene. The factions must prove the claims to the committee.”

The Asantehene also warned both the plaintiff and the defendant against engaging in violence while assuring them of amicable resolution.

“The factions must avoid any kind of violence at Senfi. They must know that the truth will prevail no matter how the case goes in the hand of the committee.”

Case
A man identified as Opanin Bonsu is laying claim to Senfi, near Ofoase Kokoben in the Ashanti Region.

According to him, the community was founded by his grandfather and therefore not an entitlement of Adumasahene.

He has since invoked the Great Oath in affirmation of his claims.

Nana Amankwaa Kodom Ababio, Adumasahene, fiercely contests these claims.

The traditional leader also invoked the Great Oath in his defence.
