Asantehene Formally Informed About His Alma Mater’s Upcoming 80th Anniversary

The Management of State Schools {State Boys, State Girls and State Primary} at Bantama has officially informed the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, about the upcoming 80th Anniversary celebration of his alma mater.
The school will mark the milestone in 2026, the Asantehene heard during the last Awukudae Festival of the year held at the Manhyia Palace on December 3, 2025.
The Management of the school sought the blessings of His Majesty as well as his support ahead of the event.
“The school will be 80 years old, and it will be observed next year. We will formally inform him about the activities. We also seek the blessings and assistance of the King to make it successful and honourable,” Bosie Amponsah, the Abrepo Junction Assemblyman, said on behalf of the delegation.
Among the delegation were Emmanuel Mensah of the SMC, Peter Akwasi Preprah of the SMC and Madam Akua Serwaa, Headmistress of State Primary.
Otumfuo recalled fond memories of his days in the school, noting that its nurturing contributed positively to his childhood development.
“In my days, State Primary was headed by Master Arthur and State Middle was headed by Master Atinka. Mrs Okyere taught me in class one. Miss Konadu in class 2. In class four, Miss Asiedu Ampong taught me to be what I am today. It is indeed my school. In middle school, Miss Diana Ampong taught me.”
Otumfuo stated that these tutors not only contributed to academic excellence but also helped develop valuable skills.
