Asantehene Affirms Position of Opanin Frimpong Manso as Buoho Ankaase Abusuapanin
The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has affirmed the position of Opanin Frimpong Manso as the Family head of Buoho Ankaase.
It comes after two people laid claim to the position ahead of the selection of a nominee for the vacant male stool.
The opponent to Manso’s position, Kwasi Adomako, stated that he was removed from the position before he was appointed.
The Asantehene opted to look into the matter for peace to reign.
At the Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on December 11, 2025, a committee report on the case was presented, which found Opanin Manso as the legitimate family head.
This was affirmed by Otumfuo.
“Opanin Manso is the Family head. He has been coming here ever since. He has previously brought a chief to swear an oath, so how come he is being challenged?”
The Asantehene discerned that the disagreement over a nominee for the vacant stool was fueling the confusion. This was confirmed after probing Opanin Adomako.
After further enquiries, it was brought to light that two candidates had shown interest in the stool, one of them being the favourite of Opanin Adomako.
It appears Opanin Manso is opposed to the said favourite.
In response, Otumfuo directed them to bring before him the two eldest women of the houses to make their decision.
