Asantehemaa Dɔte Yie: Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Joins Mourning With Family

The presence of the Rawlings family was deeply felt when Asanteman and the world convened at the Manhyia Palace for the final day’s burial rites of the late Queen, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The former first lady’s family was led by Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who is also an Asante royal.

She paid homage to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and extended a condolence message.

Her children, Yaa Asantewaa Rawlings and Kimathi Rawling were also around.

Present to convey their sympathies were President John Dramani Mahama, Deputy Eswatini Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla, Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Also present were Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Former Second Lady Samira Bawumia, IGP Christian Yohunu, BoG Governor Dr Johnson Asiamah and others.

The final day of the burial rites will later witness the laying to rest of the late Asantehemaa, with her ancestors at the royal mausoleum at Breman Abusuakruwa.

The rites commenced on Monday, September 15.

A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Asantehemaa.
