Asante Professionals Club Launches 10th Anniversary

The Asante Professionals Club (APC) has launched its 10th Anniversary Celebrations at a colourful event held on Sunday, 25th May 2025, at the Erata Hotel in Accra.

The anniversary is themed: “Honouring Our Roots; Shaping Our Future.”

In attendance were members of the Club, comprising professionals from diverse backgrounds who hail from the Asante Kingdom.

Other participants included Founding Members of the Club, State Functionaries, and Members of Parliament—some of whom are members of the Club—including Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, who proposed the formation of the Club; former Energy Minister and 2024 Running Mate of the NPP, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO); and former Deputy Attorney General, Diana Asonaba Dapaah.

In his welcome address, the President of the Club, Dr. Isaac Augustus Antwi, highlighted the objectives of APC, which focus on the development of Asanteman and Ghana as a whole.

He urged members to stay united and renew their commitment to the core objectives of the Club, which is to contribute to the development of Asanteman.

“As I welcome you to this event, I also want us to look back, pat ourselves on the back, and be proud of what we have done so far. However, I also want to remind you that there is more to be done as a Club,” he said.

After 10 years, he believes APC should begin to dream big and plan how to drive accelerated development in Asanteman.

He expressed strong confidence that members will rally behind the leadership and help turn legacy projects into reality.

“At this point, I plead with you all to work harder and support the development of Asanteman in a more accelerated manner. I urge us all to support our legacy projects through monetary donations and bring them to life. Let us not forget our roots; we are Asante,” he added.

Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Vincent Frimpong Manu Esq., while outlining activities earmarked for the celebration, noted that although the group has not yet realized its full potential, it has made a significant impact in areas including education, health, and mentorship.

“Although APC is yet to achieve all our objectives, we have not done badly. So far, we have made significant efforts in education, health, and mutual support. Each year, APC donates to the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation. We have been supporting the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, refurbished the formerly dilapidated Ashanti Library, and our branches abroad have also been very supportive,” he enumerated.

Nonetheless, Mr. Frimpong Manu told members that a lot more work remains to be done. For this reason, APC has outlined its legacy projects, including the establishment of a dedicated bank for Asanteman and a modern ICT centre. He called on members to support the cause.
