Asamoah Gyan Reacts To Court Ruling on Divorce Battle
Retired footballer, Asamoah Gyan has reacted in a cryptic message about social media reports on the Accra High Court’s ruling on his divorce battle with his now ex-wife Gifty.
The message came as reports depicted Gifty as the winner with the ruling which saw her awarded GHc 25,000 monthly, a BMW and Infiniti vehicles, land used for a gas station and two houses- one in the United Kingdom and the other at Spintex.
The former Black Stars player tweeted, “If I have 10pts and I keep quiet cos I’m matured, and you have 2 pts and you going find public sympathy, then it’s cool. You are very funny. This is deep so think about it 😂😂😂”
The message threw the public into confusion until his brother, Baffour Gyan shed light on the ruling in an interview with Asempa FM.
In the said interview, Baffour said the victor in the legal battle was his brother.
He explained that Asamoah went to court five years ago to get his marriage annulled after discovering Gifty was married to another man before their union.
He said the court established that Gifty was still married when his union with the Asamoah Gyan took place in 2013 and therefore, annulled it.
He furthered that the awards issued to the woman were no win as they all belonged to her already.
“On the matter of the properties, when Asamoah and Gifty were together, he bought Gifty and the kids a house in Spintex, so that house was already in Gifty’s name. Gifty also bought a plot of land in Tema to be used as a gas station, that piece of land was also in her name already. And then the Infiniti car.”
Asamoah Gyan had doubted the paternity of their three kids, however, a DNA test and the court ruled otherwise.
