As a Coach I Need To Find Solution; Ogum on Kotoko Losing Streak
The Head Coach of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum is on the quest to find the cause and solution to the team’s losing streak in recent games this season.
Kotoko recorded their fourth straight loss to Nations FC on Sunday at home, conceding two goals.
This followed their 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities and 1-0 defeat to Heart of Lions and Bechem United earlier.
Their defeat to Nations saw them climb further down from the league table to the eighth place. The win for Nations, however, took them to the summit with 22 points as they overthrew former Leaders Bibiani Goldstars who tasted their first season defeat against Medeama.
Speaking at a post-match conference with journalists, Dr Ogum expressed his disappointment at the undesired results he’s been chalking of late.
“We came in very determined and ready to get the maximum points unfortunately we couldn’t get it. We just have to try as much as possible to find solutions to why we are unable to win. I think once we are able to do that, we will be good to go. As a coach I need to find solution.”
“If they come to training they train well. The intensity of our training, the energy they put into the training, the desire, enthusiasm, and everything at training doesn’t give any coach doubt that on a match day they will be able to perform but then we come into the game and normally it’s a different story. That’s why I’m saying that as a coach with my technical staff we need to find solutions. I think we can bounce back.”
One issue he’s realized is a lack of positional awareness, which says he will “work more on”.
