Arsenal Shot-stopper Matt Turner Joins Nottingham Forest
Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner has joined Nottingham Forest on a four-year deal.
He becomes Forest’s third signing this summer after Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga.
“Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Matt Turner from Arsenal,” a statement from the club said on Wednesday.
The American believes the move is right and timely.
“It feels great to be here. It’s something I’m really looking forward to, it’s a great challenge and a great step in my career. When I heard that there was interest to bring me here, it just felt right for my family, it felt right when my agent spoke to me about it and it feels like the right,” he is cited as saying in an interview.
Turner is said to have made his name in the Major League Soccer (MLS), making 111 appearances during six years at New England Revolution before joining the Arsenal in June 2022.
The 29-year-old kept three clean sheets in five UEFA Europa League appearances.
He is also on record to have kept four clean sheets for the USA during their FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar.
