Aristica Cioaba Appointed Aduana Head Coach

Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Aduana Football Club has reappointed Aristica Cioaba as the new head coach.

He replaces Head Coach Yaw Acheampong whose contract was terminated last month.

The reappointment of the 53-year-old Romanian was confirmed in a social media post on December 10, 2024.

“Coach Cioaba is home! Aduana FC is thrilled to welcome coach Cioaba Aristica to the Ogya family. Let’s work together to achieve greatness,” the club wrote on its official X account.

Prior to his new appointment, Cioaba coached the Bangladesh Police Football Association based in Dhakar in Bangladesh.

Coach Cioaba has had two different stints with Aduana. The first was in 2011 replacing Herbert Addo. He made appearances as the head coach of the Dormaa Ahenkro-based club in the 2011 CAF Champions League where his side lost 3–1 on aggregate to Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca.

In 2016, he made a comeback to Aduana which ended at the end of the season.

His third spell comes at a time when the team is struggling to find its feet in the top-tier league, hovering around relegation.

They are currently 14 on the league log with 11 points, two places above the relegation zone.
