Another Arrest Made At Pokuase Interchange
A herbal medicine seller has been arrested by the Ga-West Municipal Assembly for trading along a pavement around the new Pokuase Interchange in the Greater Accra region.
A day after a father and daughter were arrested and granted bail for operating a restaurant there, a man has fallen victim too.
Speaking to Citi news, Municipal Chief Executive for Ga-West Municipal Assembly, Clement Wilkinson, confirmed the arrested.
He emphasized that any action that causes nuisance to pedestrians will call for arrest and prosecution in the law court.
“Today somebody was there and was selling herbal medicine. He is also causing nuisance. He has blocked the pavement that is why we arrested him. Nobody should sell on the pavement, it’s not about the fufu or rice”, he said.
A taskforce has been deployed to evacuated all traders and man the area.
The four-tier Pokuase Interchange, the first of its kind in West Africa was inaugurated in July, 2021 at the cost of $83million.
