Amoakohene Swears In Six Additional MMDCEs

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has sworn in six additional Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

It follows their confirmation by their respective Assemblies.

On May 14, he swore in Hon. Abubakar Sadiq for Old Tafo Municipal Assembly; Hon. Ahmed Anwel Sadat for Oforikrom Municipal Assembly; and Hon. Eric Asibey for Kwadaso Municipal Assembly.

The rest were Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kannin for Obuasi Municipal Assembly; Hon. Abubakar Issaka for Sekyere Afram Plains District Assembly; and Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah for Offinso Municipal Assembly.

The past two days at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) witnessed the swearing-in of ten newly MMDCEs.

In his address, the Regional Minister congratulated the newly appointed MMDCEs and urged them to serve with dedication, integrity, and patriotism.

He emphasized the importance of their role as true representatives of the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and the aspirations of the Ghanaian people.

“As you take on this mantle of leadership, remember to serve with the nation at heart and the President in mind,” he charged.

“You are not just administrators; you are custodians of the hopes of our people and instruments for transformational development.”

In preparation for their duties, the RCC announced a series of workshops and training sessions to be rolled out in the coming days.

These capacity-building programmes aim to adequately equip the MMDCEs for effective service delivery. A grand inaugural session is scheduled to follow upon the approval of the remaining nominations.

The Minister expressed his profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve, as well as to Assembly Members and Members of Parliament across the region for their unwavering support.

“Together, we are building a stronger Ashanti Region,” he stated.

On Tuesday, the Minister sworn in Hon. Issaka Salifu for Bekwai Municipal Assembly; Hon. Ben Abdullah Alhassan for Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly; Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah for Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly; and Hon. Frank Owusu Ansah for Suame Municipal Assembly.
