Alan Cancels Planned Public Broadcast
Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cancelled his planned public broadcast.
This was announced in a notice on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, the same day the speech was supposed to take place.
“This is to kindly inform the general public that the press conference scheduled for today, Tuesday, September 5th 2023 at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel at 2:00 pm has been cancelled.”
The former Minister for Trade and Industry was to announce his campaign team’s re-strategised plans for the final presidential primary following his surprising third-place result in the Special Delegates Conference on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
“The A4P campaign coordination team is currently analyzing the results of the Special Electoral College Election and in the course of this week, I will deliver a public broadcast on the way forward for my campaign,” a statement he released after the election said.
It was assumed ahead of the elections that Alan would take second place after Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, however, he was overtaken by Kennedy Agyapong.
Out of a total of 923 votes cast across all regions, Mahamudu Bawumia took the lead with 629 votes followed by Ken Agyapong with 132 then Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen with 95 and Owusu Afriyie Akoto with 36 votes.
The final election will be held on November 4, 2023.
