Akufo-Addo Embarks On Trip To Europe
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has left Ghana on a one-week trip to Europe.
He left the country on Monday, July 17, according to a communique from the Jubilee House and is expected back on July 24.
He is currently in Portugal to participate in the EurAfrican Forum scheduled for tomorrow, July 19 in Lisbon.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at the invitation of the Portuguese President, H.E. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa left Ghana on Monday, 17 July, 2023, on an official visit to the Republic of Portugal.
“Whilst in Lisbon, the President will participate in the Portuguese government organised EurAfrican Forum on Wednesday, 19th July 2023,” a part of the statement read.
His next stop will be in Italy where he will participate in the 4th European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East (ECAM) Annual Summit.
At the two-day summit beginning on July 23, the Commander-in-chief of Ghana’s Armed Forces is expected to deliver a keynote address.
He will then meet Italian Prime Minister, H.E. Giorgia Meloni, to discuss issues of mutual interest between the two countries, the statement said.
The President was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon Shirley Ayorkor Botchway; Minister for Defence, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul; Minister for Education, Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum; Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Bryan Acheampong; and officials of the presidency and foreign Ministry.
