Ahanta West Assembly Members Dissociate from MCE Removal Petition

Assembly members of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly have distanced themselves from a petition seeking the removal of the Chief Executive Officer, Ebenezer Aidoo.

In a statement, they affirmed their support for the leader.

Contrary to reports, they emphasised that there was cohesion within the Assembly, as it referenced the resulution of longstanding discord between the two parties using the internal mechanism of the Assembly.
“The general public is thereby informed that Honourable Assembly Members of the Assembly have signed a resolution affirming the leadership of Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo as the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly,” the letter conveyed.

In a letter dated February 12, 2026, and addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, the Branch Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of the Ahanta West Constituency, among other things, accused Ebenezer of abuse of authority and disrespect.
