Agradaa’s 15-year Sentence Slashed to One Year

Former traditional priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has secured a reduction in sentence following an appeal at the Amasaman Court.
She appeared in court on February 5, 2026, where she had her earlier sentence reduced to one year.
Upholding her conviction, the court indicated that the accompanying sentence was harsh and excessive, according to reports.
Background
Agradaa was sentenced on July 3, 2025, to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour on two counts of defrauding by false pretence.
The convict was also fined GH¢300 for charlatanic advertisement.
The conviction and sentence stemmed from a televised broadcast in 2022 in which Agradaa told the public she was willing to share GH¢300,0000 to the needy during a church service, but ended up taking various sums of money from people without giving out any money.
