Agradaa Released from Jail

Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, known as Nana Agradaa or Mama Pat, has been released from jail after serving eight months.
She was released on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in accordance with Ghana’s standard remission rules.
Confirming her release was a family video posted on social media by her husband, Angel Asiama. The couple, as well as the parents of Agradaa, were dressed in white, ready for a Thanksgiving service at her church.
The former traditional priestess-turned-evangelist was sentenced on July 3, 2025, to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour on two counts of defrauding by false pretence. The ex-convict was also fined GH¢300 for charlatanic advertisement.
The conviction and sentence stemmed from a televised broadcast in 2022 in which Agradaa told the public she was willing to share GH¢300,0000 to the needy during a church service, but ended up taking various sums of money from people without giving out any money.
However, the sentence was revised by the Amasaman High Court last month.
The court slashed the jail term from 15 years to one year.
