Afigya Kwabre North Fire Command Launches Operation 1H1FE Project

As part of its rigorous campaign to reduce fire outbreak incidents, the Afigya Kwabre North District Fire Command has launched the ‘Operation One House One Fire Extinguisher (1H1FE)’ in a brief ceremony held at the premises of the District Fire Command at Boaman.

It was launched on Tuesday 31st March, 2026 under the leadership of ADOI Daniel Antwi Boasiako, the District Fire Officer (DFO).

The occasion was graced by the Afigya Kwabre North District Chief Executive, Hon Emmanuel Jackson Aguma, the NPP Constituency Chairman, Thomas Ofosuhene who represented the MP for the area.

It was also attended by the various religious groups including the Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church, Pentecost Church, Baptist Church and some Assembly Members and individuals.

As part of the event, the District Fire Command observed the Station of the Cross where Ministers of God took turns to explain in brief all seven statements made by Jesus Christ whiles on the Cross.

Addressing the ceremony, DCE, Hon Agumah, highly commended the District Fire Officer, ADOI Daniel Antwi Boasiako, for his visionary leadership and the fact that within a short period of the establishment of the Boaman Fire Station, their presence are being felt by residents through their massive education campaigns.

“Let me take this opportunity to commend the District Fire Commander for his visionary leadership. Within this short period, their presence is being felt in every corner and I am particularly happy for the introduction of this project to ensure that every house is secured.”

He pledged the government’s continuous support for the Fire Command and assured that by end of the year, the Boaman Fire Station shall receive a Fire Tender to improve fire safety.

Mr. Thomas Ofosuhene, the NPP Constituency Chairman for Afigya Kwabre North, on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Hon Adomako Mensah, donated beds and mattresses to the staff to make their nights more comfortable upon request from the DFO.

He said Hon Adomako Mensah remains committed to the safety of the constituents and would continue to support the Fire Command to keep lives and properties protected.

On his part, the District Fire Commander, ADOI Daniel Antwi Boasiako, speaking to Opemsuo News explained the project is to ensure that at least there is fire extinguisher in every household as a basic safety measure.

He said the command has partnered the Globalnet Foundation, a non-governmental organisation with prime focus on fire safety to ensure that households acquire the extinguisher at a reduced price.

“Our aim is to ensure that at least there is fire extinguisher in every house. So we are in partnership with Globalnet Foundation to provide them at a reduced cost.”

DFO Antwi urged residents particularly property owners to take advantage of the project and contact the Boaman Fire Station to get the fire extinguisher at a low price to protect their properties.
