Adwoa Safo Eyes Speakership Position

The former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, says she has no plans to contest for the Dome Kwabenya seat in Parliament, as she has her eyes on other higher positions.

According to her, she paid her dues during her three terms in the constituency for which her hard work was never appreciated by the party.

“Considering what I’ve been through, considering how I have been treated in the constituency despite my devotion, sacrifices and hard work, I don’t think so. I won’t.

“It will take my father to change my mind. I won’t. I have done 12 years and I’ve left a good legacy in the constituency. I will not contest in Dome Kwabenya.”

The former Gender Minister has plans to contest for the presidency one day but currently, she seeks the position of a Speaker in Parliament.

“Life moves forward not backwards. I’m moving forward, I’m looking at other bigger things.”

Asked if the Presidency was part, she answered, “One day not now. Yes.”

Pushed further, she replied, “The Speakership, yes. I’m looking for higher challenging opportunities.”
