Adum PZ Fire: Two Injuries Recorded

Two injuries have been reported in the devastating fire that ravaged shops at Adum PZ in Kumasi’s Central District on Friday.
The injured include a firefighter and a civilian, the Ashanti Regional PRO of the Ghana National Fire Service, DO3 Peter Addae, confirmed in an interview with the media.
“Two people suffered some minor injuries including a fireman and a civilian,” he told Citinews’ Hafiz Tijani on the sidelines of the firefighting.
According to him, debris fell on the head of the civilian while the fire officer sustained an injury on his foot.
The civilian was rushed to the nearby health facility, he noted, adding that the officer was treated by personnel of the Ambulance Service.
The fire which started at 4 am on the top floor of a four-storey commercial building spread to other blocks and floors consuming goods worth millions of cedis.
In an update after fighting the blaze for 5 hours and 40 minutes, the GNFS said the fire had been brought under control.
It added, “Overhaul operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining pockets of fire.”
It also appreciated all stakeholders and partners for their support in managing the devastating incident.
