Adequate Measures In Place For Assin North Election- Police
The police service has given assurances that enough security measures have been put in place for the smooth administration of the Assin North by-election.
“As we go into the Assin North by-election tomorrow, 27th June 2023, the police service wishes to assure the people of Assin North in particular and Ghanaians in general that adequate security measures have been put in place within the constituency in order to ensure security, law and order before, during and after the election.”
It therefore urged residents to go about their routine duties while the elections carries on.
As part of these measures, a statement from the service said, the leadership of Political parties and other relevnt stakeholders in the election were engaged earlier today.
The meeting had the National Chairman and Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Chairman and Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, the National Secretary and regional executives of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).
The Director of the Electoral Commission (EC) was also present.
Three candidates will go into the polls tomorrow in the quest to represent the constituency in Parliament.
They are Charles Opoku (NPP), Bernice Enyonam Sefenu (LPG), and James Gyakye Quayson (NDC).
