Ablekuma North Violence: Eight Accused Persons Fined ¢6k Each

The Accra Circuit Court has convicted and fined the eight persons charged for instigating violence during the Ablekuma North rerun.

They were convicted on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Crime, that is Assault, contrary to Sections 23(1) and 84 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Each of the accused persons is expected to pay GH¢6,000 or serve 24 months in prison in default.

This judgment followed their guilty plea during their arraignment on August 26, 2025.

A statement by the police identified the accused persons as Mohammed Abubakari, 32, a Private Security Officer; Tijani Mahamudu, 38, a Driver; and Prince Dzakpasu, 39, a Businessman.

The rest are Anas Mohammed, 42, an Estate Developer; Mohammed Hamda, 35, a Mechanic; Darko Otibu Samuel, 33, a Businessman; Musah Muntari, 46, a Station Manager; and Ali Saeed alias Bomba, 43, a Businessman.
