Ablakwa Reacts To President’s Uncertainty About Aisha Huang Deportation
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, like many others, has expressed his surprise at President Akufo-Addo’s admission of uncertainty about the Galamsey kingpin, Aisha Huang’s deportation in 2017 when she was arrested for illegal mining.
The representative of North Tongu Constituency in Parliament believes the President’s statement corroborates his recent findings that cast doubt at the news of her deportation.
Ablakwa recalled that the President described Aisha Huang’s deportation as a mistake at a Princeton event in September 2019.
“So at what point did President Akufo-Addo become unsure about Aisha’s deportation? What steps has he taken since then to convince himself about the facts? What has he done to his officials confusing/misleading him? How does he assure the nation that, at best he isn’t sleeping on the job or at worst, he isn’t neck-deep in this grand conspiracy?
“Is the President now compelled to shift positions because of the damning revelations we are putting in the public domain? Many Ghanaians are legitimately asking if President Akufo-Addo is still our Commander-in-Chief and Chair of the National Security Council?”, he sked.
He has therefore reiterated the calls for a probe into the alleged deportation.
