A/R: Three Arrested in Connection with MoMo Vendors Murder

Three suspects have been arrested by the police for their alleged connection to the murder of some Mobile Money (MoMo) vendors in the Ashanti Region.

This was confirmed by the Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene on March 24, 2025, in a brief social media post.

One of the suspects was arrested in Bawku in the Upper East Region while the remaining two were rounded in the Greater Accra Region.

In a Facebook post, he wrote, “Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the MoMo Vendor murders in the region. One was arrested in Bawku and two in Accra.”

He credited the efforts of the National Security and Ghana Police for the breakthrough.

In the past two months, at least two MoMo vendors have lost their lives in armed robbery attacks in the region.

It would be recalled that in February, Augustine Mensah, a 33-year-old was shot dead while returning home from work.

This was followed by news of the shooting of a female vendor at Krofrom in an attack in which the perpetrators bolted with Ghc10,000.
