A/R: Sawua Residents To Resist Hospital Road Diversion
Residents of Sawua community in the Bosomtwe District have vowed to resist any attempt by authorities to divert the major road from the community to the new hospital that is said to be 93% complete.
According to the residents, plans are far advanced to divert the major road linking Kumasi to the Ashanti Regional Hospital that is currently under construction in the Sawua community. They believe if authorities succeed in that attempt, it is going to collapse their businesses.
Speaking to Opemsuo News Reporter, Kwame Owusu Achaw, they said their properties have already been destroyed by the contractor as they were told they needed to pave way for the Hospital road construction. Therefore it would be highly unfair for the government to divert the road after destroying their properties.
They also believe that after losing over 200 acres of their farmlands for the construction of the Ashanti Regional Hospital, they hope that once the road is constructed, it will boost their businesses.
