A/R: Police Hunt Down Suspect for Killing 3
The police have launched a manhunt for a suspect for shooting and killing three individuals at Barniekrom near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region under the guise of self-defence.
The suspect identified as Osman Majeed bolted after allegedly committing the crime.
A statement released by the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday said the suspect shot the three on July 2, 2024, claiming they were part of a group that had come to attack him.
“A Police team visited the scene of the incident and conveyed the bodies of the three deceased persons to the morgue for preservation and autopsy. Exhibits retrieved from the scene include one motorbike, 8 spent cartridges and four cutlasses.”
Investigations have already commenced with efforts underway to locate the suspect.
Meanwhile, the community has been encouraged to remain calm as the investigation into the incident proceeds.
