A/R: Our Engineers are Working to Restore Power after Rainstorm Caused Outage – ECG

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says work is steadily ongoing to restore power to parts of the Ashanti Region plunged into darkness.

In a statement, it blamed the situation on the heavy rain that hit parts of the region in the early hours of Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public in the Ashanti Region that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of the Region this morning has caused outages within our network.”

“ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our Engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply.”

It directed customers experiencing outages within their individual premises should kindly contact our contact center on 0302611611, report to the nearest ECG office or reach us on our social media handles @ECGghOfficial.

The ECG further expressed regrets over the inconvenience caused to the affected customers.
