A/R: Ansar Islamic Senior High School Commissioned
The Ansar Charity and Development Foundation, an Islamic-oriented non-governmental organization, has commissioned the first phase of the Ansar Islamic Senior High School in Wadie Adwumakase, located in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region.
It was commissioned on Saturday, 14th December 2024.
The event was attended by the traditional leaders of the Community led by the Krontihene, Nana Wi Asamoah II. It was also attended by the Islamic community in the area including Imams, parents and some students.
Speaking to Opemsuo News, Mr. Abdul Haqq Nuhu Ahmed, the Ansar Charity for Development Foundation Secretary, disclosed the school was sited at Adwumakase to provide secondary education to the increasing Junior High School graduates in the Kwabre East District.
According to him, “the entire Kwabre East District has only one Senior High School, Antoa SHS so the Ansar SHS shall provide quality alternative secondary education to JHS graduates from nearby communities”.
He disclosed the school is sponsored by a Dubai based philanthropist while the project was executed by the Foundation.
He urged surrounding communities to enrol their wards at the school to maximize its profits.
He indicated that the school is open to all students, regardless of their religious backgrounds, and is not limited to Islamic students.
“Let me state that this school is open to everyone particularly parents who cannot afford to take their children to schools due to the high cost of transportation. It was brought here to help their children access SHS education at a low cost so they should enrol their children here”.
On his part, Nana Wi Asamoah II, the Krontihene of Wadie Adwumakase commended the foundation for their vision.
He underscored the significance of education and urged the people to support the initiative and prayed for its sustainability.
“On behalf of the Chief of Wadie Adwumakase, I want to commend the Foundation for this vision, bringing education to the doorsteps of the people, we are grateful for that. In this era you cannot do without education, so I will encourage parents in this community and surrounding communities to bring their wards for quality education and shape our future leaders.”
