Rejected Juaben MCE Nominee To Be Arraigned In Court For Corruption Charges
The Juaben Municipal Chief Executive nominee who was rejected by his assembly members, Alex Kwabena Sarfo Kantanka, will be arraigned in court over some charges of corruption.
He has been charged by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng with twenty-six (26) counts of corruption.
“The Office of the Special Prosecutor has charged nominee for the position of Chief Executive for Juaben Municipal Assembly, Alexander Kwabena Sarfo-Kantanka with twenty-six (26) counts of corruption in respect to a public election- arising out of two public elections conducted in September and November 2021 for the confirmation or otherwise of his nomination”, the OSP announced in a press statement.
He will be arraigned on June 1, 2022, at the Criminal Division of the Kumasi High Court.
It will be recalled that the Special Prosecutor on November 2, invited former MCE of Juaben, Alex Sarfo Kantanka following a viral video of him allegedly demanding a refund of monies he had disbursed to his Assembly members in return for his confirmation as MCE after he was rejected.
