NCA Prompts Ghanaians About SIM Re-registration Deadline

Today is March 9, 2022, which means that Ghanaians whose SIM cards haven’t been re-registered have twenty-two (22) more days to do so.

The National Communication Authority (NCA) in a notice served on its Facebook page reminded Ghanaians to comply with its the directive.

The notice read, “We are in March! Remember to register your SIM card now”.

The NCA has threatened to deactivate all SIM cards that don’t get Re-registered by the end of March.

In an updated notice, the NCA announced that about 8.7 million Ghanaian subscribers have completed the re-registration exercise while 13.2 have only completed the first phase of the process.

As of March 4, 2022, the “Number of completed SIM Card Registrations is 8,698,081 and Number of SIM cards linked to the Ghana Cards is 13,183,635”.

The registration exercise was met with a lot of challenges on the onset which led to the emergence of a group boycotting the exercise and calling for a more appropriate means of registration.
