International Women’s Day (IWD) is a commemorative event set aside by the United Nations globally to celebrate the economic, political, and social achievements of women.

It is celebrated annually on 8th March.

This year’s theme seeks to recognise the importance of women and girls around the world who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response to build a more sustainable future for all.

The MoGCSP will, on March 2, launch the event at the Alisa Hotel, organise a cooking competition at the forecourt of the MoGCSP on March 4, and conduct an activity themed, “what do you know” on March 6 at the studio of the GBC.

On March 8, the Ministry will hold a seminar at the Alisa Hotel in commemoration of the day.
