OSP To Conclude Probe Into Juaben MCE, Former PPA Boss, 1 Other Case

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) says it will soon conclude investigations on corruption and corruption-related cases in respect to the former Municipal Chief Executive of Juaben, former Public Procurement Authority (PPA) Chief Executive and another involving LaBianca Company Limited.

The OSP said it will also announce further actions to be taken in these regards.

The Special Prosecutor on November 2, invited former MCE of Juaben, Alex Sarfo Kantanka following a viral video of him allegedly demanding a refund of monies he had disbursed to his Assembly members in return for his confirmation as MCE after he was rejected.

Also, it will be recalled that the former Chief Executive of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei, was reportedly fingered in corruption and conflict of interest after he was accused of sidestepping procurement procedures for personal gains in a 2019 documentary by freelance journalist Manasseh Awuni Azure, which resulted in his interdiction by the president.

For LaBianca Company Limited, the OSP says it was incriminated together with some high-ranking officials of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority in an alleged corruption-related offence in the context of evasion and valuation of duties on frozen and processed food products imported into Ghana between 2017-2021.
