Police To Offer Ghc10k Incentive for attackers of Radio Ada
The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has offered a reward of GH10,000 for information leading to the arrest of those who destroyed Radio Ada, a community radio station in the Greater Accra Region.
On Thursday, January 2022, around 11:30 a.m., a group of eight guys allegedly attacked the radio station forcefully.
“The attackers, one of whom was armed with a pistol, invaded the on-air studio by forcibly destroying its door open. They beat up the presenter and vandalized the on-air studio equipment, leading to the temporary shut-down of Radio Ada,” the management of Radio Ada said in a statement.
In a statement dated January 16, 2022, the Police Administration told the Radio Station and people of the region that it would do everything in its power to apprehend the criminals.
According to the police, the Ada Divisional Command is being assisted by a team of detectives and intelligence officers from the National and Regional Headquarters in the investigation of the incident.
“We will do everything possible to find those thugs and deal with them according to the laws of this country. To this end, the Police Administration has placed an amount of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢10, 000) bounty as an informant reward for anyone who offers a piece of credible information leading to the arrest of the thugs who invaded and vandalized the Ada Radio station and assaulted the staff,” the Police assured.
