Court Fines 4 Indiscipline V8 Drivers, Issue Arrest Warrant For Nhyiaeso MP, 1 Other

The La Magistrate Court has fined four of the V8 drivers who were arrested on Tuesday, December 7 around the Airport By-pass for engaging in various road infractions.

Out of the seven who were supposed to appear in court yesterday, only five were present, including; Mr. Joseph Brown, Thomas Atinga, Mr. Daniel Boateng, Emmanuel Kofi Ofori, and Mr. Dimini Atuahene.

Each of the suspect drivers that appeared in court (except Thomas Atinga), was fined GHc 1,800 or in default serve a three-month prison term.

Thomas Atinga, however, was convicted to sign a bond to be of good behaviour for three months or in default serve a three-month prison term.

For the two drivers, including the Nhyiaeso MP, Hon. Dr. Stephen Amaoh, who failed to appear in court, a warrant of arrest has been issued for them.

The seven drivers were arrested during a police operation on the Airport By-pass to arrest recalcitrant drivers between the hours of 16:00 and 18:30 on the said day.

The road offenses for which the drivers were arrested included careless driving, dangerous driving, causing road obstruction, and others.
