Ramaphosa Congratulates President Akufo-Addo for Being Adjudged African Of The Year, 2021 By Forbes Africa Magazine

President Akufo-Addo has been adjudged African of the Year, 2021 by Forbes Africa Magazine.

The award which is in its fourth year recognises Africans that have made an impact on the Continent and the world stage.

The latest issue of the magazine acknowledged President Akufo-Addo’s effort in repositioning the country in the global marketplace as one reliant on its resources and strengths.

Speaking at a State Banquet, visiting South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa said the award is in recognition of the commitment and vision of President Akufo-Addo for Africa. He congratulated the President for achieving that feat.

“We are proud of this recognition, Your Excellency, because it speaks of your commitment, it speaks of your creativity, your innovation, and your clear strategic vision of what should happen in your own country, as well as on our beloved African continent,” he said.
The two countries promised to deepen the ties of operations and friendship.
President Ramaphosa said South Africans can never forget the pivotal role Ghana played in the struggle against apartheid.

”Currently, Africa is facing new challenges that must be confronted with the same vigor and purpose.”
”Though Africans have shown resilience, the ravages of COVID-19 on African economies have been harsh,” President Ramaphosa stated.
President Akufo-Addo recalled the friendship between the two countries which dates back to the era of Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah, and that of Nelson Mandela. He was hopeful the visit will further strengthen the bond of friendship in sports, culture, education, and trade.

He thanked President Ramaphosa and his delegation for their visit to Ghana.

“For me, one of the essential pillars of our relations must be the mutual nurturing of our young people. They are the ones to inherit the legacy of our current co-operative endeavours, who should work towards preserving and further enriching it,” President Akufo Addo noted.
