Government Recruits 16,850 New Trained Teachers
The Ministry of Finance has given clearance to the Ministry of Education to employ some sixteen thousand, eight hundred and fifty (16,850) newly trained teachers from December this year.
“Approval is also granted for their emoluments to be charged against the compensation of Employees vote of the Ministry of Education in the 2021 budget”.
As a result, the Director-General of Ghana Education will ensure that the newly trained teachers have their documents processed in time and placed on the mechanized payroll early enough to enable the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to affect their salaries.
“The effective date for this appointment should not be earlier than 1st December 2021”, the statement indicated.
The Ministry has also requested the Controller and Accountant-General to effect the payment of salaries of the newly trained teachers and make the appropriate deductions of social security and Income tax to SSNIT and Domestic Tax Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority respectively.
The financial clearance will expire on December 31, 2022.
