Lady Julia Conducts Free Breast Screening In Kumasi

Wife of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Her Royal Highness Julia Osei Tutu has begun a free breast screening program in nine (9) health centres in the Ashanti Regional capital.
This program is in line with the world’s breast cancer awareness month which focuses on sensitizing the public about breast cancer.
The nine selected health facilities include Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital(KATH), Tafo Government Hospital, SDA Hospital at Kwadaso, and Bomso Specialist Hospital.
The rest are; Suntreso Government Hospital, Manhyia Government Hospital, Lady Julia Health Centre, Trustcare Specialist Hospital, and Peace and Love Hospital.
The program is in partnership with the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation and Breast Care International.
It runs from October 1, 2021, to October 31st, 2021.
Reports indicate that there are about 1.7 million new cases and 522, 000 deaths from breast cancer each year.
It has also been found that in low and middle-income countries, where most women are diagnosed in the late stages, 324, 000 die annually.
